Neighborhood Events

FLAG believes in fostering good neighbor relations to keep Ladd's a safe, healthy, and connected neighborhood.

In the past, FLAG has hosted many events to bring our community together. In addition to organizing volunteer rose deadheading throughout the summer months, FLAG has hosted summer picnics with games, holiday potlucks with caroling and horse-drawn wagon rides, and silent auctions.

Climbing Rose Tutorial

Join Pashalle from Portland Parks and the FLAG team to learn how to care for climbing roses. We’ll have some tools, but feel free to bring your own pruners and gloves, or just come to listen and watch! We’ll start in the West Garden, and may move to the South, if time allows.

Save Our Elms Tree Planting

We’re looking forward to planting 9 new trees in Ladd’s Addition! Planting trees is a wonderful way to beautify the neighborhood, meet your neighbors, and have fun!

No experience necessary. We’ll provide a short demonstration before we get started.

We'll divide into small teams, keeping households together as much as possible.  Please bring gloves. If you have them, please also bring a shovel, pruners, a bucket, a broom and a rake.

Rain or shine, the tree planting will happen.
